The Cornerstone of a Comeback

We’ve all faced moments where rejection or failure has made us question our worth. Maybe it was a job we didn’t get, a promotion that went to someone else, a project that flopped, or a mistake that left us reeling. In those seasons, it’s easy to feel like we’ve been disqualified, like our missteps or brokenness have written the end of our story.
But Psalm 118:22 offers a radically different perspective.
The stone the builders rejected, the one they looked at and said, “This doesn’t belong here”, became the cornerstone. Not just useful, but foundational. Essential.
That’s the way God works.

The enemy would love for our mistakes to become monuments of shame, but God uses them as markers of grace. What was meant to disqualify you, God uses to define your calling. That season of failure? He can make it the groundwork of your testimony. That detour? It might just become the direction He uses to build something greater.
Romans 8:28 reminds us that “God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” All things. That includes your disappointments, your regrets, and even your outright failures.
You may feel like the rejected stone right now, but take heart, God isn’t finished building. What others have discarded, God is preparing to elevate. Your story isn’t over; it’s just being rebuilt on a stronger foundation.
Let your failure become fuel. Let your rejection lead to redirection. And trust that the same God who turned the cross into the greatest victory the world has ever known can do the same with your life, your leadership, and your career.
The stone the world rejected? That’s the one God builds everything on. and it’s the same Spirit that God promised that powered Him will power you. So what about you? What’s the next step you need to take to work on you? To help yourself discover your purpose and direction? Imagine how different life could be in one year from them if you took the first step to reignite your passion.
